SpaceX rejects Coastal Commission authority over Air Force approved launches

SpaceX attorneys have said the California Coastal Commission exceeded its authority and ignored federal law and policy by rejecting an increase in spacecraft launches from Vandenberg because some commissioners object to company owner Elon Musk's political views.

The California Coastal Commission exceeded its authority by declining to increase the number of rockets SpaceX launches from Vandenberg Space Force Base - and did so because members object to company owner Elon Musk's politics, attorneys said in a lawsuit filed against the agency.
