San Francisco court clerk strike delays high-profile trial

San Francisco County Superior Court clerks, whose contract expired at the end of September, went on strike Thursday to protest what they said are the court's inadequate staffing and training.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins and Public Defender Mano Raju on Thursday called for a swift resolution to the contract dispute between the Superior Court and its clerks after a one-day strike disrupted proceedings.

The clerks, whose contract expired at the end of September, went on strike to protest what they said are the court's inadequate staffing and training.
