Judge allows new expert to inspect Google source code in trade secrets dispute

At Friday's hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Randolph M. Hammock dismissed arguments by Google that granting the application would allow prejudicial evidence into the trial.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Randolph M. Hammock granted a motion by a company suing Google LLC for trade secret theft to allow a different expert to inspect the tech giant's source code for evidence of impropriety. Hammock overruled opposition by Google in a hearing on Friday but cautioned plaintiff ReactX that it could cause further delays in the case, which was first filed in 2018.
