Judge accused of wife's murder released from jail, posts $2M bond

Orange County Judge Jeffrey M. Ferguson has not been on the bench since his wife, Sheryl, was fatally shot in the chest in front of the couple's adult son in their home.

An Orange County judge accused of murdering his wife, and who has been in jail for a month for violating bail by consuming alcohol, was released after posting a $2 million bond on Thursday, twice the amount imposed after his arrest in August 2023.
