LA County sues Coke, Pepsi over recycling claims

Attorneys for Los Angeles County claim the beverage giants engaged in "disinformation" efforts related to the recyclability of their plastic bottles.

Los Angeles County claims that Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo Inc. lied to the public about the recyclability and environmental impact of their plastic bottles. A complaint in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday alleges public nuisance, violations of the unfair competition law and false advertising.
