Screenwriter appealing anti-SLAPP denial over 'Road House' counterclaim

Author R. Lance Hill claimed that his 1986 "Road House" screenplay was used without his authorization to produce a remake of the film that streamed on Amazon Prime Video this year. His anti-SLAPP motion against the studio's counterclaim was denied.

The screenwriter of the 1989 "Road House" movie gave notice to a federal judge on Friday that he will appeal a ruling that allowed a false ownership counterclaim brought against him by Amazon's movie studio to move forward.
