Baker & McKenzie $500K fee dispute moved to SF

Both Baker & McKenzie and their former client, SBM, claim that their retainer agreement pertaining to the defense of two PAGA cases was breached.

A nearly $500,000 fee dispute between one of the largest international law firms, Baker & McKenzie LLP, and its former client SBM Management Services LP, was consolidated in San Francisco Superior Court on Monday as the parties battle over a June 2021 retainer agreement that both sides claim was breached.

At the center of the dispute was SBM's retention of Baker & McKenzie as defense counsel in two representative Private Attorneys General Act lawsuits initiated in 2021...
