Riverside case joins claims that Pfizer's contraceptive causes brain tumor

Pfizer Inc says the contraceptive Depo-Provera has been approved by the FDA as safe for 30 years but is updating its labels with warnings about long-term use.

The latest of a series of federal lawsuits that claim Pfizer Inc. negligently manufactures a contraceptive drug and fails to warn consumers that one of its ingredients could potentially increase the risk of developing a certain brain tumor was filed in federal court in Riverside on Friday.
