Oakland diocese's abuse settlement offer 'dead on arrival'

An attorney for creditors claims the diocese's offer aims to "force" victims to release third party claims and become real estate agents for the church.

A proposed settlement offer from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland or 345 alleged sexual assault victims, worth up to $198 million, is "dead on arrival" a lead attorney from the victims' legal team said Monday.
