Plaintiffs: VA request to pause urgent shelters order violates its purpose

Veterans' counsel opposed the VA's request for stay of an order that it immediately build 100 temporary shelters, saying the government motion will lead to "needless suffering and death" if granted.

The VA's motion to pause a federal court order to immediately fund production of 100 temporary housing units on its West Los Angeles campus goes against everything the agency stands for when it comes to its commitment to protect homeless and disabled veterans, attorneys for plaintiffs in the case argued.
