LA, San Diego DAs sue home insurance provider over rot clauses

The complaint filed in Los Angeles County claims exceptions to coverage contained within Travelers Insurance policies provided "little or no" protection for rot damage.

A lawsuit filed by the district attorneys of Los Angeles and San Diego counties claims that Travelers Insurance failed to disclose exceptions to coverage for rot damage in its business and homeowners' policies.

"Travelers enforced inadequately disclosed coverage restrictions, including a 14-day exclusion for water seepage or leakage, which rendered this rot coverage inapplicable for many of its customers," read the complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court...
