Huntington Beach voter ID initiative gets court win

Friday's decision by Orange County Superior Court Judge Nico A. Dourbetas is not the final word in the dispute over the city's right to pass a voter identification law.

The City of Huntington Beach achieved a rare legal win against the state when an Orange County judge upheld its voter identification initiative. Attorney General Rob Bonta has vowed to continue to fight the voter-backed measure. But the issue could prove to be a political loser for Democrats.
