Jury rules LAPD not liable for BLM protestor's injuries

The plaintiff had claimed that "less lethal" munitions used by LAPD officers were responsible for injuries he suffered during a protest.

A jury found in favor of Los Angeles Police Department officers on all causes of action in a case brought by a Black Lives Matter protestor in federal court, finding that his injuries were caused by debris thrown by a crowd member.

The lawsuit, filed in the Central District of California, claimed that plaintiff David Zuniga was injured during a peaceful protest when LAPD officers used excessive force, specifically "less lethal" munitions, which resulted in a head injury....
