SF judge declines to reconsider elder abuse class certification

City Attorney David Chiu had claimed that the decision to appoint a guardian to represent one of the lead plaintiffs made both lead plaintiffs unfit to litigate the case.

A San Francisco judge has declined to reconsider his previous grant of class certification to a group of more than 700 current and former patients from Laguna Honda Hospital suing the City and County of San Francisco for alleged elder abuse that they claim to have suffered at the facility.
