A lawsuit claims that the world's largest carrot producer is responsible for a nationwide E. coli outbreak. The contaminated organic carrots, sold nationwide under various brands at major retailers such as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Costco, and Target, have since been removed from store shelves.
The lawsuit was filed Friday in Sonoma County Superior Court on behalf of a California man who, his attorneys said, was hospitalized after eating the contaminated carrots.
