The Walt Disney Co. has settled for $43 million with 14,000 class plaintiffs claiming sex-based pay discrimination in violation of the Equal Pay Act.
The settlement brings to a close years of litigation between the company and women who said they were systematically paid less than their male counterparts.
The parties came to an agreement at a recent conference, according to the proposed settlement filed on Nov. 26.
