Judge concerned about 25% in fees for 23andMe settlement
The judge said he had serious concerns about the $7.5 million in fees for the $30 million settlement, noting "there was no real substantive litigation in the case" and the agreement was signed three months after lead counsel were appointed.
A motion for preliminary approval of the $30 million settlement of a multi-district class action by millions of customers of the 23andMe genetic testing company over a data breach has been conditionally granted by a federal judge in San Francisco.
