State Bar shuts down immigration law practice in Los Angeles
Authorities uncovered many cases involving victims who paid thousands of dollars for immigration services that were never delivered.
The State Bar seized the offices of an unauthorized immigration law practice in Los Angeles, alleging it defrauded Filipino immigrants by falsely claiming to be operated by a licensed attorney.
On Nov. 21, a Los Angeles County judge authorized the seizure of Prestige Network Resource Consulting Inc.'s office on Olympic Boulevard and finalizing the order on Dec. 2. During the operation, investigators collected 30 boxes of client files and five computers.
