Less restrictive electronic court recording sought
Family Violence Appellate Project, represented by Covington & Burling LLP and Community Legal Aid SoCal, and Bay Area Legal Aid, filed a lawsuit against the superior courts of Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and San Diego counties last week.
Legal aid groups are hoping the California Supreme Court will mandate a statewide electronic recording policy for court proceedings that has fewer barriers to access than the directives issued by Los Angeles County and Santa Clara County superior courts this year.
