Walmart faces class action over lead in cocoa mix

The complaint, filed Jan. 7 in federal court in San Francisco, claims that Walmart violates California's Unfair Competition Law, or UCL, by failing to disclose the presence of lead on its labels for the hot cocoa mix.

Walmart Inc. was accused of false advertising in a putative class action by a group of customers claiming to have found "more than double" the maximum allowable dose of lead in a hot cocoa mix the company manufactures under its brand Great Value.
