Legal nonprofits to see new funds to fight Trump administration

At least $15 million will be funneled through the State Bar and the California Access to Justice Commission to nonprofits fighting deportations and cases involving reproductive rights.

Democrats in Sacramento reached a deal over the weekend on funding the legal resistance to a second Donald Trump presidential administration. Under an agreement between Gov. Gavin Newsom and Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, an additional $25 million will go to legal aid and immigration defense.
