Former Huntington Beach officials sue to void $50M settlement

Ex-Mayor Constance Boardman and former Planning Commissioner Mark Bixby want to nullify a controversial settlement between Huntington Beach and Pacific Airshow LLC, alleging it constitutes an unlawful gift of public funds.

A lawsuit by two former Huntington Beach city officials aims to void a legal settlement they claim is worth some $50 million in public costs.

"This court has the authority to prevent this massive waste and gift of public funds," the complaint filed on Friday read, calling for an injunction under Section 526a of the Code of Civil Procedure. "...[T]he court can stop this unlawful gift of public funds and save the taxpayers of Huntington Beach millions of dollars."...
