DOJ, Orange County DA reach settlement over custodial informant violations

An eight-year federal investigation into constitutional violations in Orange County's custodial informant practices concludes with a settlement between the DOJ and the District Attorney's Office.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Orange County District Attorney's Office have reached a settlement agreement to address constitutional violations in the use of jailhouse informant practices, bringing an eight-year federal investigation to a close.
