Google moves to dismiss Epic's app blocker antitrust claims

Google seeks dismissal of Epic Games' antitrust lawsuit, claiming no involvement in Samsung's auto blocker feature that limits app downloads to Google Play and Galaxy Store. A case hearing is set for April 3.

Attorneys for Google LLC asked a federal judge in San Francisco to dismiss an antitrust lawsuit brought by Epic Games Inc. that accuses Google of conspiring with Samsung Inc., the world's largest Android phone manufacturer, to undermine potential competition in the Android app distribution market.

The lawsuit blames a security feature, an auto blocker, that is a default on new Android phones.
