Apple sued over cancer-linked 'forever chemicals' in watch bands
Consumers sue Apple, claiming its Watch bands contain harmful PFAs, contradicting health claims. The lawsuit highlights increased chemical absorption during exercise, with Apple acknowledging PFAs but planning their phase-out.
A group of consumers accused Apple Inc. of falsely advertising the Apple Watch as "supportive to human health and wellness" while knowing its watch bands contain "forever chemicals" known as PFAs that can cause cancer. Their lawsuit says the company's recommendation that the watches be worn during exercise makes the chemicals even more likely to enter the body.
