Central Valley Water District sues over $500M canal project funding
The Terra Bella Irrigation District has accused the U.S. Department of the Interior of initiating a $500 million canal project without adequate funding and attempting to retroactively impose costs on water districts. The lawsuit also names the Friant Water Authority as a defendant.




A Central Valley water district sued the U.S. Department of the Interior, alleging that the agency initiated a large-scale canal project without securing proper funding and is now attempting to retroactively compel water districts to share in its costs.
