In his first address to Los Angeles County judges and staff, the new presiding judge focused on enhancing community outreach and court modernization. Plans include public polling, remote access expansion, and a mobile unit for community engagement.

Newly elected Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia emphasized community outreach and modernization in his first address to Los Angeles County Superior Court judges, staff and other attendees.

Delivering the county's first State of the Court speech on Tuesday, Tapia outlined plans to increase public trust in the court through community polling, expanded remote access and a mobile unit to connect judges and court staff to the public, among other initiatives.
