Environmental groups sue to block new oil drilling in San Joaquin Valley

The lawsuit, led by the Center for Biological Diversity, claims federal agencies failed to account for environmental impacts and ignored public input.

The Center for Biological Diversity and other environmental groups have sued the Bureau of Land Management to block new oil drilling leases in the San Joaquin Valley. These include 10 permits challenged in another case in 2023.
