Autotrader challenges judge's ruling in privacy tracking case

Autotrader pushes for a federal judge in LA to reconsider a partial dismissal in a privacy lawsuit, arguing the judge misinterpreted California's pen register statute regarding IP tracking.

Attorneys defending Autotrader from unlawful online tracking allegations argued that a federal judge in Los Angeles should revisit a partial dismissal ruling because he did not thoroughly analyze the law that was used to keep alive a claim that the company's software violated the state's pen register statute.
