A Los Angeles jury awarded $21 million to a plaintiff who said she was severely injured when a Systems Services of America truck rear-ended her minivan, causing traumatic brain injury and requiring multiple surgeries.
The award totals some $34 million after augmentations stipulated by Code of Civil Procedure §998, according to Nicholas C. Rowley of Trial Lawyers for Justice in San Francisco, who represents the plaintiff.
