Judge partially upholds discrimination suit against Bumble's 'First Move' policy

A federal judge has allowed parts of a class action lawsuit against Bumble to proceed, alleging the app's "first move" policy discriminates against heterosexual women. Claims from before August 2022 were dismissed as time barred.

A federal judge found a putative class action that accused the Bumble online dating app of enforcing discriminatory "first move" policies against heterosexual women was sufficiently pled. However, portions of the action were dismissed because some of the claims were time-barred, the judge ruled.
