$27M Thomson Reuters software settlement approved
The plaintiffs claimed that Thomson Reuters committed fraudulent or unfair business practices by taking the proprietary information of "hundreds of millions of people" without consent or compensation to create the "comprehensive cradle-to-grave dossiers" that CLEAR users develop using the software.





A federal judge in San Francisco finalized a $27 million settlement between Thomson Reuters Corp. and Californians who accused the company of illegally collecting and selling phone records, location data, photographs and other sensitive personal information to customers of its investigative research software, CLEAR.
Thomson Reuters' media relations office and legal team from Perkins Coie LLP could not be reached for comment Friday but denied wrongdoing throughout the four year...
