New Sacramento courthouse set to open this fall

After years of planning and construction, the Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse is set to open this fall. The 18-story, 53-courtroom facility will replace the aging Gordon D. Schaber Courthouse, offering modern security features, videoconferencing in every courtroom, and improved amenities for jurors, attorneys, and staff.

After more than a decade of effort and nearly five years of construction, the new Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse will open this fall.

The 18-story, 53-courtroom courthouse will have over half a million square feet of space. It will feature a larger jury waiting area, several lactation rooms for staff and courthouse visitors, videoconferencing equipment built into every courtroom, and broad views of the surrounding area.
