A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy voluntarily dismissed his claim of retaliation during a second trial after a previous jury awarded him $8.1 million.

Plaintiff Andrew Rodriguez orally moved for dismissal on the fourth day of a retrial on Friday, according to a minute order from Judge Armen Tamzarian's courtroom.
