Target settles with stabbing attack victims

Target's settlement with shoppers stabbed by an assailant using a display knife follows a judge's rejection of the retailer's claim it had no duty to secure premises against unforeseeable crimes.

Target Corp. has settled two lawsuits brought by shoppers who were stabbed with a display knife in its downtown Los Angeles store in 2022.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lee S. Arian recently granted plaintiff Brayden Medina Molina's compromise petition to seal the record regarding the terms of the settlement and the amount.
