Verdict was 'guesswork,' says filmmaker seeking 2nd trial against Apple

A plaintiff who claimed Apple stole her film for its "Servant" series argued the jury was awaiting an answer from the judge to a legal question when the panel went ahead and decided for the defense.

An Italian filmmaker who unsuccessfully tried an $81 million federal infringement case against Apple Inc. moved for a new trial after arguing the jury's verdict that cleared the company of any wrongdoing was unfairly delivered because it was the product of guesswork.
