Bonta sues Trump administration over teacher grant cuts

The lawsuit argues the cancelled grants violate federal law and threaten efforts to address critical teacher shortages in math, science, and special education.

Attorney General Rob Bonta, accusing the Trump administration of cancelling grants for schoolteacher preparation programs that were already appropriated by Congress, filed a lawsuit along with seven other states Thursday seeking an injunction to restore the money.
