ACLU files motion to quash broad search of protester's phone

The ACLU claims UC Santa Cruz police used an unconstitutional warrant to search a student's phone in a vandalism investigation. The student has sued the university after participating in a pro-Palestine protest on campus.

The American Civil Liberties Union accused a university police department of executing an unconstitutional search warrant on a student's phone who is already embroiled in a civil rights lawsuit over her participation in a pro-Palestine protest on campus. The university says it is investigating her for vandalism.
