Apple fights sanctions over withheld App Store documents

Apple resists sanctions for withholding 55,000 documents in an antitrust clash with Epic Games, arguing good faith and blaming Epic, as a federal judge deems privilege was overused.

Attorneys for Apple Inc. on Monday pushed back on an Oakland federal judge's desire to sanction the company for withholding documents related to its compliance with a 2021 antitrust injunction regarding app store policies.

The plaintiff, Epic Games Inc., claims Apple isn't complying with the court order and is "avoiding its day of reckoning."
