Hearing set for judge accused of pretending to be secretary's attorney

Santa Barbara Judge Michael J. Carrozzo faces a misconduct hearing April 14 for allegedly posing as his secretary's attorney, misusing court resources, and exchanging personal emails. He has challenged on privacy grounds.

Hearing set for judge accused of pretending to be secretary's attorney

Special masters will conduct a hearing into misconduct accusations against Santa Barbara County Judge Michael J. Carrozzo starting April 14 at the Court of Appeal building in Ventura.

The judge has challenged most of the alleged facts, saying they are based on information - mainly emails between him and his judicial secretary -- in a third-party server for which he and others have a right of privacy.
