Plaintiff to pay sanctions for perjury, loses case against Inglewood

A judge ended Melanie McDade-Dickens' lawsuit against Inglewood and its mayor, ruling she committed perjury, destroyed evidence in her harassment, wrongful termination claims.

A former Inglewood city employee has been ordered to pay $217,404 in sanctions after a judge found she committed perjury and destroyed evidence in her lawsuit against the city and Mayor James T. Butts. The ruling effectively ends a lawsuit claiming harassment and wrongful termination against the city by plaintiff Melanie McDade-Dickens, according to Mira Hashmall, partner at Miller Barondess LLP in Los Angeles.
