Judge rejects bid to disqualify attorneys in Hollywood film dispute

Plaintiffs sought to remove Weintraub Tobin attorneys, citing conflicts of interest, but the court ruled against them as the case moves toward a May trial.

Attorneys for a Hollywood studio executive successfully fended off an attempt to disqualify them from a lawsuit accusing their client of mismanaging funds for a sci-fi horror film and other projects.

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge denied the motion on March 13, allowing Weintraub Tobin attorneys to remain on the case as a jury trial approaches in May, according to a minute order.
