The nearly 250-year-old American experiment in liberty and justice for all is ongoing, ever-evolving, complex, imperfect - and vital.

In 1775, when Patrick Henry delivered his galvanizing "Give me liberty or give me death!" speech to the meeting of the Second Virginia Convention at St. John's Church, he helped spur the cause of American Independence. He laid the groundwork for freedoms we hold dear today - including (eventually) many that directly impact women.
