Shasta County sues to invalidate union communication laws

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors, backed by the Freedom Foundation, is challenging state laws that limit how public employers can communicate with workers about union membership, citing First Amendment concerns and the U.S. Supreme Court's Janus ruling.

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors, with the help of the Freedom Foundation, has sued the Public Employee Relations Board, seeking to void three sections of the state Government Code covering communications with public employees.
