Firms challenge $24M fee split in Roundup weedkiller MDL

The objections, filed Thursday, all ask the judge to rescind or revise his fee distribution order, which attempted to compensate seven law firms for their contributions to all MDL plaintiffs' cases.

Two law firms that represented plaintiffs in the Roundup weedkiller multidistrict litigation asked a federal judge in San Francisco to refund their contributions to the $24 million common benefit funds given to lead counsel. The objecting firms stated courts too often compensate lead MDL attorneys for "work they would have done anyway."
