A group of Monterey County residents has filed a federal lawsuit against Vistra Corp., alleging that the energy giant's negligence caused a massive battery fire and explosion at the Moss Landing Power Plant in January, releasing toxic heavy metals into surrounding neighborhoods and contaminating at least 20 acres of land.
