A Chatsworth jury granted $36.4M to a motorist left with chronic health issues after a crash, including funds for her dog's care, in a rare high award for the area.

A Chatsworth jury awarded $36.4 million to a motorist who was hospitalized after another motorist pulled out into her path. Her attorney said his client had to have a section of her intestines removed, leading to chronic diarrhea.

The plaintiff, Elizabeth McAlister, was represented by Parris Law Firm's Alexander R. Wheeler. He said his client was rushed to the hospital with serious abdominal injuries after the 2021 accident in Palmdale. She was discharged about 12 days later....
