State sues Foodbank of Southern California over alleged multi-million-dollar fraud
The state seeks over $11 million in damages and the return of improperly acquired equipment. The nonprofit, which quietly shut down last year, was the subject of a criminal investigation involving a CHP search of its headquarters. New CEO Brian Weaver says he uncovered the alleged misconduct shortly after taking the helm and that most of the named individuals are no longer with the organization.




The California Department of Social Services sued the non-profit Foodbank of Southern California and its officers, alleging they embezzled millions of dollars of state and federal funds meant for their communities.
