Judge rejects plea deal in wife's shooting as retrial begins
Prosecutors say Judge Jeffrey Ferguson refused a plea deal involving prison time in the shooting death of his wife. As his retrial gets underway, they're considering using his emotional TV interviews to challenge his credibility if he testifies.





Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey M. Ferguson has rejected a plea offer that would have required prison time for killing his wife, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Deputy District Attorney Seton Hunt also told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Eleanor J. Hunter that he might use a television interview Ferguson gave last month, after a jury hung - 11 to 1 for conviction - to impeach Ferguson in the retrial that starts Monday.
