A judge granted a temporary restraining order Tuesday against Sonoma State University and its interim president, Emily Cutrer, barring them from further implementing $6.8 million in planned cuts to academic programs.
Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Kenneth G. English ordered the university, Cutrer and its chancellor, Mildred Garcia, to show cause by May 1 why a preliminary injunction should not be granted to further prevent the cuts from taking place.
